Weaponry |
Kerrinne has quite an extensive array of weapons that she may utilize in combat. Some of them can be summoned at will, though a few of them have special stipulations that make them unable to be summoned. Listed below are the weapons she uses the most or is notorious for owning.
The Vorpal Edge
The Vorpal Edge is a two handed sword that once belonged to one of the three Brotherhood of Darkness founders, Lothos Lotharian (Vorpledge). On the BoD crest it is represented as the sword on the right hand side when you're looking at the crest (the crest's left side, viewer's right). At first glance, one might think it was indeed too large for a woman of Kerrinne's size to carry, much less wield. Though grim determination, with the aid from a magical enchantment to lighten the sword by 8.2%, she manages to do both. At times, the sword can be cumbersome for her in battle though - and she is still learning how to wield the massive weapon.

"Fatal" is Kerrinne's Emerald Crystal Dagger. This dagger is primarily used in one on one combat, and it is seldom, if ever, used for assassinations unless it's the only thing handy when she runs across her next victim. The dagger is approximately 10" in length with stainless steel double edged blade. The pommel of the dagger is a solid emerald (2.5 CTS) and the hilt is made of 14 karat yellow gold with 33% lead crystal as can only be blown in Ireland by the expert glass blowers.
The dagger has a couple of magical capabilities seeded into it by Kerrinne's own powers. One of them being that it is completely summonable - once thrown she can make it 'rematerialize' in her hand. The second magical capability is that during combat it can send a blinding ray of whitish/purple light to blind her opponent.
This dagger was given to her by her mother, Krystal Lynne Dougal, when she left Scotland for what would end up becoming RhyDin at the tender age of 15. The magical powers were not infused into the dagger until much later after Kerri discovered and mastered the use of her inborn magical powers under the training of her mentor, Merlin de Dubar, the Grey Wizard who has since passed on.

"Silencer" is Kerrinne's primary dagger for assassinations. It is light weight, slender and easily concealed in the confines of her long sleeves whether in her mage's robe or the tunic from her 'down and dirty' ensemble. This stainless steel blade is also double edged with a deadly piercing tip, sometimes gently dipped into some poisonous herb concoction that Kerri whipped up. The hilt is 14 karat yellow gold with a deep white oak grip decorated in detailed and tiny runes. The dagger is not very long being only 8" in total length.
This dagger has no magical capabilities and being forged through a normal process and not infused with any magic, cannot be summoned. Kerri's method of attack during her assassinations are to either go for the throat with the sharp edges or expertly toss the dagger across a room toward the heart of her target. In the latter case, the tip is always poisoned to ensure instant, or as close to instant as possible, death. Those who perish this way by her hand should consider themselves lucky.

The most notorious swords in Kerrinne's collection have to be three "triplet" Claymores of Fire: Reigner, Renderer, and Ruiner - forged in RhyDin's earliest days by her now late grandfather Karal Bairde MacMillan. Karal was a smithy and a born pyromancer, the six foot long claymores were infused with his powers...all of his powers in a horrible accident. Karal would never be able to use his powers again after forging these swords, as they contained equally what was once his.
Though they look like normal claymores, they are completely magical in nearly every aspect, though they can cut and pierce like a regular sword. They cannot be summoned, as they have minds of their own. They "claim" their owners; and when their owner disappears, dies, or otherwise ceases to exist in this realm, they make their way back to Kerrinne mysteriously. Logically, all of their magical attacks are fire attacks.
Reigner is now in the hands of the one known as "The Cobra Spider" or T'hiss Claymore. No one, save for one woman, is really sure what T'hiss is except for the fact that he can shift shapes and has some demon in him somewhere.
Ruiner was most recently wielded by ChaZ Grackle, the elf fire elemental that resided at Ivory as Kerri's bodyguard for some years during Vois' departure from RhyDin. It just recently returned into Kerrinne's possession, which has greatly saddened her for it means either ChaZ has perished or he will not be returning anytime soon to RhyDin.
Renderer is, from time to time, wielded by Kerri though it anxiously waits to announce who its new owner will be. Its thoughts already fixated on who it has chosen.
The Golden Staff of RhyDin
The six foot tall golden staff of the late Merlin de Dubar, First Grey Wizard of RhyDin is perhaps the most prized and notorious of all weapons that Kerrinne owns. To this day many seek out the staff that could undo all that is in RhyDin. This staff was forged by gods to defend RhyDin against the rage of the God Malac. Though unable to be proven, it is thought to be the first weapon ever 'made' in RhyDin.
Kerrinne does NOT carry the staff around with her, though she does at times keep it locked away in a magical portal that requires a physical key that she wears cloaked on a black cord around her neck. It also requires a 'magical key', which is a certain combination of runes that must be drawn in the air. Only Kerrinne knows these runes as she created the code and has yet to draw the runes in front of anyone that still lives.
Once the staff is in her hands, it cannot be simply 'grabbed' from her. The staff, once touched, binds instantly to the physical, mental, and spiritual existence of the wielder. This is perhaps what makes the staff so powerful, and so dangerous to wield. The staff takes over the mind of the wielder, riddling it with repeated questions asking for the mind to direct its powers. Those of a lesser or weakened state of mind would easily meet their demise attempting to wield this staff, as ANY thought you think even for a fraction of a second becomes the staff's orders from you to it.
Kerrinne does not use the staff lightly, for it is not meant for her hands. Prophets of old foretell of a child that the staff will come to belong to in the future. A child that Kerrinne has given birth to that will one day be called upon to save RhyDin.
