To Lead with New Vigor
(2001-2003)

Several months later, Kerrinne was sure enough called back into RhyDin from Norrath. It seemed that Kait Silverstone had joined the BoD and upset a lot of BoD members off the bat. Several left when she joined; though she did manage to recruit many new members into the BoD during this time. Recruiting was perhaps the only thing the woman had a talent for, as time would prove.

Claude Tompkin was named Co-Leader with Loki'al and Kait was named DGC until Loki'al resigned completely leaving the guild to Claude. Claude, however, was in a state of turmoil that no one knew about. The Nexus had taken him into the Void. Kait panicked and left the BoD to start her own guild with Uther Nitewind, AGE. The BoD was left to falter and die and it would have if it were not for the loyal and strong members remaining in the BoD keeping it all together.

Those that were actively trying to keep it alive and held positions before the upper crusts disappearance were all called together by Kerrinne in an Emergency High Council Meeting. Kerrinne had several long talks with her old friend Varick and her new friend Borael Ironstaff. They decided prior to the meeting that Kerrinne would present the situation in the BoD to the Council, and she would volunteer as leader of the BoD if the High Council so voted for it. Borael would be her second, and they secretly agreed that he would step up to the plate of leader after a few months when he had more time. Kerrinne did not want to be a leader. She never liked being a leader in the past, at least not for long, and avoided it whenever possible.

She felt it was her duty to the BoD to lead it during this crisis though, so once the High Council (Some members were: Drac, Rehn, Ran, Rune, Varick and Borael) unanimously voted her into power (a first for BoD's history) she poured her heart into reorganizing the BoD and getting its feet back on the ground. The Brotherhood of Darkness had come to mean something more to her than even she realized.

She resituated them into the BoD and severed all previous alliances and ties in one flailing swoop. There would be no siding of the BoD with light guilds under any circumstance, neutral guilds only if it was convenient, and dark guilds only if she could stab them in the back at a later time. The Brotherhood of Darkness name would be infamous for striking fear into all races and alignments once more in RhyDin. Kerrinne was determined to make it happen.

After some discussion about the future of the RWC, Borael persuaded Kerrinne that the Forum of RhyDin Guilds (FRG) was the government the guild should be trying to get into. Kerrinne was not completely convinced, but she granted him the permission to start that division and seek about gaining membership. She was not going to put much of herself or her efforts into it, because she did not think it would turn out to be beneficial. Though when Darkstalkers flat out refused to sponsor the BoD into the FRG, they believed all hope might be lost for the forum anyway. The BoD had no real ties to any other guilds in the FRG, and the main alliance of dark guilds in the FRG Kerrinne wanted nothing to do with other than to fight - the Venom Alliance.

Out of nowhere he showed up in the tavern one evening - a rascally looking anubis by the name of Cardinal Anubis Nim. He was leader of The Crimson Carnival though Kerrinne suspected from her senses early on that he was no carnival leader. It was all a front for something much deeper and darker. Kerrinne liked that aspect of Cardinal Nim for that was how she did things. Nim spent some time with Kerrinne and Borael, and it was decided The Crimson Carnival would sponsor the BoD.

Right after this revelation, Borael had to leave RhyDin. In his place Kerrinne put Ranwolff MacRogh as DGC then later Co-Leader. Ran transcended every boundary, met every goal, and exceeded every member's efforts in everything that was assigned to him and more. He became her best friend on many levels, and admiration and respect grew in droves for this man who had a passion for the BoD that was parallel to her own. He would help her build this empire and keep it on track to head into the FRG.

Kerrinne's personal life was flying as fast as her professional life was during this time. It is true that the more power you wield in RhyDin the more people want to marry you...or at least bed you. Kerrinne had men crawling out of the woodwork to be with her, but she kept her circle of men that she was interested in very small. They included: Cicero von Myst who had recently been resurrected, Chialms Lockson who she had met through Talissia, Denkken Kenafin who she was still keeping ties with after all those years of spying on him, and Larook Helston. She had known of Larook on and off throughout her life. Who in RhyDin didn't know of the Helstons and their reputation after all? She met Lars through Sita was in love with him, but she confided in Kerrinne that Lars had no interest in marrying again. He had his wife Perish, and he only wanted lovers on the side.

He chased Kerrinne for a long time trying to seduce her, but Kerrinne never gave in. Part of her warned her that it would be nothing but trouble, but part of her gave in for a reason not even she can explain. Sita's friendship with Kerrinne ended at this point. Kerrinne had betrayed a sacred thing between friends just as she had done with her twin sister years before even if not on purpose. Kerrinne started seeing Lars regularly and Chialms Lockson too. Finally, she had come to a point where she would have to choose between the two.

Kerrinne was about to break things off with Lars when he impregnated her on purpose. People whispered that he knew she was going to leave him for Chialms, so he did it in order to keep her. Well, it seemed to work. Kerrinne instead broke up with Chialms and married Lars. Later she gave birth to their son Kincaid Helston - half demon, half-human. Though by this time, Kerrinne realized that Lars was not the man for her. She was not happy with him or his demeanor for a woman of her station. At times, she was downright embarrassed to be seen with him in public. Kerrinne needed someone with social class and charm; Larook was not that person.

It was a violent break up, but Kerrinne retained custody of Kincaid. For her safety, Chialms had separated the demonic soul of Kincaid from his mortal one giving the demonic one a new host body. The demonic Kincaid was sent to live with the Helstons, while the Kincaid with the mortal soul remained with Kerrinne. The Helstons have tried to claim that they have the only and the original Kincaid, but politics are not known for keeping truth to the straight and narrow. Neither are the Helstons.

With her love life calming down after her divorce from Larook and her dating of Chialms, the BoD began to make spectacular progress. The legacy was being rebuilt, and whispers of the BoD's might were being whispered anew. Together with the hard work of the BoD members and Nim's guidance, the Brotherhood of Darkness would enter its third forum in its history successfully and at the same time defeat the mighty and terrible Goblinoid HORDE in war. It was a feat few have ever accomplished. The BoD stood tall and proud in the FRG and made a name for itself by being active in nearly everything the forum had to offer it.

It was a time of celebration and great cheer. At least until Chialms disappeared. Kerrinne became lonely again. It was difficult working so hard professionally and having nothing in your personal life that was rewarding. To ease her loneliness Kerrinne turned to Vladimir Dracul, who by this time was the Master of the Armies for the BoD. Drac, as she calls him, was her friend and became much more. Though she would find over time that they were not well suited for each other either.

Another man kept coming around to see her, though he never really pushed himself on her. He would talk to her and take interest in her thoughts and in her feelings, not just professionally but personally. He carried a demeanor in public and private that was very appealing to Kerrinne, one much like her own...sort of upper class yet with that little twinge of being friendly. It was such a useful tool to have, and Kerrinne admired anyone she met that had this ability.

People constantly hounded on her about how she was ruining her image and thus the image of the BoD by being involved romantically with Drac. While the rebellious side of her wanted to defy that, the political maneuvering side of her understood that she had to do something and fast else she and the BoD would lose their foothold in society. She broke up with Drac several months after they were engaged.

She and Jagger remained friends for a while, but it didn't take long to escalate further. He stirred feelings in her she had not felt since Vois. Could she truly give her heart so completely to another man again? The answer was yes. While not married, she was bound completely to Jagger for two years. She still wears the black crystal collar he gave her, and she raises their daughter Kendra.

Now that she is single and free, rumors run rampant about her with various men including Cicero von Myst. But whether they are real interests or merely game is anyone's guess but Kerrinne's. The one thing most people know is for sure, Kerrinne is devoted to her beloved Mina Slayer. Best friend, confidante, and more...it would be wise to not mess with Mina unless you feel like testing Kerrinne's wrath.
